MEET OUR PANEL SPEAKERS:

Meet Dr. Geoff Galbraith: an internist in Honolulu, HI, diagnoses and treats a wide range of conditions in adults, often serving as a patient’s primary care provider. Learn lots more about Geoff in his Member feature blogs (blog #1 here), (blog #2 here)(and blog #3 here).

Meet Dr. Rae Seitz: currently a medical director with HMSA Department of Medicare Programs, Rae was the principle architect and leader of the HMSA Supportive Care Program (home-based palliative care), and helped to lead the state-wide  Advance Care Planning Video Project.  She is a founding board member of Kokua Mau, Hawai’i’s palliative and hospice care organization. 

Dr. Seitz completed her medical school training in 1993 at the John Burns School of Medicine and completed a residency in internal medicine and pediatrics.    Dr. Seitz receiving her training in palliative and hospice medicine at Harvard Medical School in 2001 and went on to become one of Hawai’i’s first board certified palliative care specialists.  While at Kaiser Permanente Hawaii  she led the development of a home-based palliative care program as well as a palliative care consultative service in the hospital. 

Dr. Seitz teaches palliative care to healthcare workers, lay persons, and community groups in Hawai’I and internationally.  In 2013 she was recognized as one of the top 30 visionaries  in the area of Hospice and Palliative Medicine by the American Academy of Hospice and Palliative Medicine.

Meet Dr. Warren Wong:  Warren Wong is a Clinical Professor of Geriatric Medicine.  Most of his career was at Kaiser Permanente where he developed programs both in Hawaii and nationally.   His current work includes developing home and community based care for frail elderly patients.  in addition he is developing a tablet based app for patients with mild dementia.
