MEET OUR SPEAKER:

 

Michael Cheang, DrPH
Associate Professor, Human Development & Family Studies at 
University of Hawaii at Manoa

Michael Cheang is an Associate Professor with 25 years of university teaching experience.  He teaches Family Resource Management in the Human Development and Family Studies Program at the University of Hawaii at Manoa.  Much of his work has been in the field of gerontology.  He served two terms on the Honolulu Committee on Aging at the City and County of Honolulu, and taught courses in Programs and Services for the Elderly at the UH Center on Aging.  In the 2003, he had a contract from the County of Hawaii Office on Aging to develop a curriculum and trained paraprofessionals who care for older adults across the State of Hawaii.  His doctorate is in Public Health with a focus in gerontology.
