Dear friends,

For some time now, a sub-group of the Hawaii chapter of the Amazing Care Network has been studying Okinawa, one of the places in the world designated as a “Blue Zone”.  A Blue Zone designation among other things, describes a population of people who tend to live healthily up to 100 years (and over.)  The group, consisting of Lena Young, Gladys Ching, Jean Kumamoto,  Pam Hinsdale and Kathy Inkinen, have shared with me their observations about why Okinawans tend to live longer and healthier lives.

Ever the skeptic, I shared my view that personal experience/observations are superior to reading about things.  The group responded with an invitation to a tour of Okinawa open to all ACN members.  The tour will be led by experienced tour guides who have worked in Okinawa and understand our keen interest in longevity and health.  The tour begins on March 1, 2025 and ends on March 9, 2025.  I’ve attached a flyer which is still a work in progress as pricing is yet to be finalized.  As the tour group is limited to 20 individuals, it’s important to express interest in joining sooner rather than later.  If you have an interest, please send a note to Tracie Carter (tracie.carter@sterlingadministration.com) .  An application form is included at the bottom of the attachment.  If you have an interest, please complete and send directly to Linda Okabe (lokabe@jtbusa.com).  She can also assist you if you wish to extend your tour.

And yes, I’m going!
