Some afternoons feel less like an event and more like a conversation you didn’t know you needed.
Our recent Amazing Care Network gathering in Honolulu brought together a wonderful group of individuals for an afternoon of thoughtful discussion, shared experiences, and meaningful reflection. Led by retired family and weight management physician Dr. Peggy Latare, the session explored health, wellness, and what it truly means to look beyond weight.
Dr. Latare encouraged attendees to think about health in a broader, more compassionate way—not just as the absence of illness, but as a balance of physical, emotional, and social well-being. Drawing from years of medical experience, she shared insights on how daily habits, relationships, sleep, movement, and mindset all contribute to long-term wellness. Additionally, her presentation also addressed the complexities of weight management, helping shift the conversation away from judgment and toward understanding.
What made the afternoon particularly meaningful was the openness within the room. Guests shared personal stories, reflected on their own wellness journeys, and connected through honest conversation about aging, health, and the small choices that shape everyday life. The atmosphere felt warm, welcoming, and deeply human.
Mahalo to everyone who joined us and helped make this gathering so special. For those who could not attend, we hope to see you at a future Amazing Care Network event, where meaningful conversations like these will continue.
